The European Commission aims at issuing a draft amendment to the European Copyright Directive regarding Orphan works.
LIBER believes that the draft proposal will take into account a solution for orphan works for literary works only; a diligent search in line with the recommendations produced as part of the orphan works i2010; cross border recognition of national solutions; means for fair compensation for right holders and the need to publish what is being digitised for right holders to approach the digitising body.
