Joint Statement on Open Science

We are pleased to share a joint statement on Open Science, issued today by ALLEA, EIFL, IFLA, LIBER, OPERAS and SPARC Europe on behalf of thousands of European universities, research-performing organisations, libraries, and academies of sciences and humanities.

Read the full statement here: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.20165183

In light of the consultation on the European Research Area (ERA) Act, the statement reflects on the current state of Open Science and identifies the key legal, financial, and structural barriers that still prevent Open Science from becoming the equitable and sustainable standard across European research – and what policymakers and practitioners can do to address them.

We encourage you to share this within your networks. There is still much work to be done!
