Gerhard Reichmann: EINFLUSSFAKTOREN AUF DIE ÖFFNUNGSZEITEN VON UNIVERSITÄTSBIBLIOTHEKEN
Zusammenfassung: Gegenstand des vorliegenden Beitrages ist eine Analyse der Öffnungszeiten 50 stichprobenartig ausgewählter Universitätsbibliotheken (UB) in Österreich, Deutschland, Kanada und den USA. Ziel dieser Analyse ist es, mögliche Einflussfaktoren auf das Ausmaß der Öffnungszeiten zu identifizieren. Als potentielle Einflussfaktoren werden Bibliotheksgröße sowie Land (Staat) bzw. Sprachraum, in dem eine UB liegt, in Betracht gezogen. Die Ergebnisse der Analyse legen u.a. offen, dass größere UB sowie UB in den USA tendenziell länger geöffnet sind.

Gerhard Reichmann: INFLUENCING FACTORS ON OPENING HOURS OF UNIVERSITY LIBRARIESAbstract: InforIn this paper we analyze the opening hours of 50 randomly selected University libraries (UL) in Austria, Germany, Canada and the USA. The aim of this analysis is to identify possible influences on the extent of the opening hours. Potential influencing factors that we consider are library size and country (state) or linguistic area in which a library is located. The results of the analysis show that larger UL and UL that are located in the United States tend to be opened longer.
