Librarian (m/f)
Job description
MODUL University is looking for a part-time librarian to start in September2014. The librarian will be responsible for a range of administrative tasks (e.g. ongoing cost-control of media expenses), user services (e.g. circulation, help desk) and core library tasks such as media purchase, cataloging and book processing.
Moreover, the librarian will support the University’s Research documentation. The librarian will be supported by students or another part-time coworker.
Requirements
- Very good spoken and written English, good German
- Strong service orientation, readiness to do administrative tasks while covering the Information desk, good self-management and interpersonal skills
- Experience and/or formal training in Library and Information management
- University degree or equivalent
- Proficient computer skills
- Familiarity with research methods, online catalogues, e-journals and the use of databases
- Experience with the software ALEPH of advantage
- Cataloging skills (according to RAK-WB) are a major asset
